Be Bold: Unleashing the Power of Faith
Faith isn't passive; it's a force that demands action. It's about more than just believing; it's about being bold in your belief. This isn't about blind arrogance, but a confident reliance on the power of God, especially in the face of challenges. As Hebrews 11:1 states, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." This assurance empowers us to be bold.
The scriptures are filled with examples of bold faith. Elisha, empowered by a double portion of Elijah's mantle, didn't shrink back when mocked. He boldly called upon the Lord, and those who scorned him faced the consequences (2 Kings 2:23-24). Jesus, confronted with a barren fig tree, didn't just wish for fruit; he spoke to it, and it withered (Mark 11:20-24). This demonstrates the power of speaking to our mountains, those seemingly insurmountable obstacles in our lives. As Mark 11:23 says, "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for1 them." This is the boldness of faith.
Many times, we find ourselves waiting for God to act, when in reality, God is waiting for us to act. Like Moses at the Red Sea, we may cry out in desperation, but God's response might be, "Why are you crying to me?" (Exodus 14:15). God asked Moses what he had in his hand, and instructed him to use it. The power was there, but it required action, a step of faith. God often works through us, empowering us to be agents of change. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." This strength empowers our boldness.
The key is using the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us, "Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it" (John 14:13-14). This is a profound promise, but it requires us to be bold enough to ask, to command, to decree. Don't stand passively by while situations in your life deteriorate. Speak to those situations – be specific. Name the challenge – financial struggles, health issues, marital problems – and command it to change in the name of Jesus. "You shall say to this…" the scripture reminds us.
This isn't about empty pronouncements; it's about aligning our words with the Word of God. It's about standing on the promises and decrees written in scripture. When sickness, financial hardship, or any other challenge arises, declare, "Hear the word of the Lord! It is written…" Then, speak the corresponding promise. "I shall decree it, and it shall be established" (Job 22:28). "Whatever you ask in his name, he will do it." Therefore, boldly decree against the challenge, commanding it to cease to exist in the name of Jesus.
Be bold! Attack those situations with the name of Jesus. Remember Peter at the beautiful gate. He didn't offer silver or gold, but he offered what he had: the power of the name of Jesus. "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk" (Acts 3:6). It2 is faith in the name of Jesus that performs miracles.
Faith is not a passive hope; it's an active force. It's about being bold, taking action, and speaking with the authority that comes from knowing who you are in Christ. As Romans 8:31 declares, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" This confidence fuels our boldness. So, be bold. Unleash the power of your faith, and watch mountains move.
